Vacuum casting
Small batches of parts in polyurethane
resins.
Rapid manufacturing of small batches of parts using various types of polyurethane resins that closely resemble the final product in appearance and characteristics.
Method: a model (“master”) made with SLA or CNC is used to create a silicone mold for subsequent vacuum casting with various types of polyurethane resins. Each mold can be reused to produce about 10-20 replicas.
Materials: the vacuum castings are produced using polyurethane resins. These resins can simulate a wide range of mass-produced thermoplastic materials, which can be rigid and opaque like ABS, PA, PC, transparent like PMMA, or rubbery with ShoreA hardness ranging between approximately 20shA and 90shA.
Tolerances: ISO2768m standard
Applications: functional and aesthetic parts, manufactured with resins that can simulate the appearance and functionality of the final production material.
